Tips for Losing Weight: Low Calorie Alcoholic Drinks
September 29, 2011Many people struggle to keep on track when dieting, whether it’s the constant logging of calories, finding time to exercise or simply giving up your favorite foods. However, you can drop a few pounds a month simply by making a few small changes to your daily lifestyle.
Alcohol
One of these changes is only indulging in low calorie alcoholic drinks. If you are a very social person, then this change along can make a big difference.
Drink water
You don’t have to drink only water, but by replacing your evening glass of wine and that sugary drink you get from the cafe at work with a bottle of water, you can shed a few extra pounds. Not only will it cause you to lose weight, it will also help your body digest your food and will speed up your metabolism. Even having some protein shake recipes around can really help weight loss.
Walk up the stairs
To lose weight, you don’t necessarily have to exercise for one hour each day, although three sessions of exercise per week is highly recommended. You can add some exercise to your busy day by walking up the stairs instead of talking the elevator, going to the bathroom upstairs rather than downstairs and getting off the bus one stop earlier than usual and walking a few extra meters.
Replace junk food with healthy food
Next time you want to order a pizza, think about what you will be sacrificing as a result of eating the pizza. Not only will it likely muck up your diet, but most people will feel guilty afterwards and become disheartened. In addition, you may not lose as much weight that particular week, simply because you ate the wrong foods. Instead of eating pizza, you can make your own using pitta bread or naan bread and topping it with cheese, meat and other toppings. There are many different junk foods that can be quickly and easily replaced by a much healthier option. If it’s a quick burst of energy you are looking for then why not have a Banana? The calories in a banana are more than enough to give you a quick boost.
